What is a Dwalf? - Naugathoron - Habiliment - Past Times A dwalf is a magical creature. It is a dwarf/elf hybrid, sharing characteristics of both races. Dwalves are short and stocky, ranging from about three to three and a half feet in height. Due to the luminescent vegetation in their city, Dwalves have a naturally aquatic blue hair color, which also gives off a bit of luminescence. They have pointed ears and long, flowing beards. Beard and hair braiding are both time-honored traditions amongst the Dwalves, and each family braids their beard in a different fashion. A dwalf can live to be up to 1,000 years old. Dwalves make their home in Naugathoron. Their great city is truly a magnificent sight to see. The vegetation in the caverns glows with a luminescent brilliance. It provides the dwarves with both a light source and a food source. The steam rising up from the cracks in the caves makes the rivers seem as if they were floating. Majority of Dwalven structures are made of either wood or Sithgol. Sithgol is a silvery metal which is mined from the caverns below. The clothing worn by most dwalves are silk garments made of their magical silk known as Tithgol. The green-tinted silk is harvested from spiders in the caverns below. The garments are naturally light and airy, as well as waterproof. Dwalven armor is made up of Sithgol, and has proven to be very durable in the past. Dwalves are particularly fond of their pipe smoking. The roofs of mushrooms from within their caves can be ground up to make a relaxer when ignited known as Myyre. Majority of older dwalves will take a puff of the ol' Myyre before bed to ensure a more rested sleep. Smithing to a dwalf is both a profession and an art. There is always competition as to who can make the most aesthetically pleasing, as well as the most protective armors. Mining is the largest occupation amongst dwalves. Sithgol is always needed for architecture, armament, weapons, and countless other things.
